Devotions uses only the cookies it needs to work. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, so we don't ask you to accept any. We count page views and link clicks on our server, without cookies.
Cookies we set
These are strictly necessary. The site can't sign you in, or let you play a run you paid for, without them.
- Sign-in cookies (names starting
sb-): set when you sign in with Google, to keep you signed in. They last until you sign out, or at most 400 days. One of them is a helper for the Google sign-in itself: it's deleted as soon as Google signs you in, and if you leave sign-in part-way it stays, like the others, for at most 400 days. - Run cookie: set when you press Pay now for a run, and again on the page you land on after paying. It holds a random code that proves the run is yours, so only your browser can play it and see its private details. It's kept for up to 180 days. We store only a one-way hash of the code. The same code is in the link in your confirmation email, which opens the run in any browser.
Stripe Checkout
When you pay, you go to Stripe's checkout page on checkout.stripe.com. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process the payment, prevent fraud and, if you use it, remember you for Link. See Stripe's cookie policy.
YouTube videos on creator pages
Creators can add YouTube videos to their page. We load the player from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. When you play a video, Google may set cookies or store information on your device, and Google's own privacy policy applies. If you don't want that, don't play the video.
Game fonts
Pages that show a game, and the overlays creators use in OBS, load the game's font from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). No cookie is set, but your browser sends Google its IP address and browser details to fetch the font, and Google's privacy policy applies to that request.
Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block ours, you can't sign in, and you can't play a run from that browser.
